Border walls, they shouldn't exist

I think border walls divide, because they separate countries more than they already are. Countries already have borders which divide countries why put up walls. It's because they think it'll protect them more when in reality they just create cultural barriers. The border walls will never work because they will always cause more harm than they will protect. They may protect our country for a short time being but once countries feel they are no longer welcome, that is when things begin to divide. Walls are there to separate more than they are there to protect, what will protect us is using our borders as an advantage and forming allies on our borders not keeping them out of the country with walls. Think about it, if a person builds a wall around themselves to keep them from having to deal with you how would that make you feel? Like they want no part of you and that you are divided from them. Border walls may create up to a certain point until the wall begins to become a barrier t...

Ad Review

I think the first ad I think the intended audience was young people, maybe 21 year olds, people who drink beer period.  Budweiser wants to show them that beer is what lights up the party. That if they don't drink beer at a party or a function that they will be boring. I think they are targeting this specific audience because this is a group who is more willing to party than maybe an older group of people. This also is an age where all that is cared about is being cool, having sex, and being one of the popular kids. Budweiser thinks that with this commercial they will be able to get these young adults to see that the beer appeals to them and will allow them to get them what they want. I think the second ad has less of a bigger meaning like the first one I think what the ad is saying is pretty straight forward. The ad wants kids to think life is a cereal you'll love because they got the picky kid to eat the cereal. They think portraying the young kid that is a picky eater enjoyi...

Chapter 2 Overview

Honestly my transition to college was similar to the experiences of Marie. I came from a pretty nice high school, where teachers were generalists like he talked about. They knew the subject but not like the ins and outs of the subject like a college professor does. Dr. Kane my first semester biology teacher knew literally everything about biology. The last time I took biology was my freshman year in high school, so I'm coming in thinking that it's going to be somewhat similar. It was nothing alike, he went so much farther in depth and the course material was so much that it began to become overwhelming. Now after reading these chapters and looking back I agree with Hjortshoj, that high schools really only prepare you to be accepted into college, they don't really help you figure out how to get through the academic grind. I thought I was doing great being able to study and manage my time wisely until basketball season started. I had to really buckle down because I had to fin...
As I rose out of my sleep, my back was aching, and my neck was hurting from sleeping on the cold jail floor. Yes, a jail cell which I have no clue as to how I ended up in here. I get up and begin to pace around trying to remember what happened the night before. As I begin to pace around the cell I pull out a granola bar, which I remembered was my snack the for the long car ride I took last night, but a car ride to where?  I reach deeper in my pockets and find a bus ticket to New york and remember the bar wasn't for a car ride it was for the bus I was taking. Why was I on a bus to New york? As I reach my hands in my pocket to think, I feel another piece of paper crumbled up at the bottom of my pocket. I pull it out and unfold it enough to read it, "meet me at this location: 129 BEAK DRIVE". This address was in the town I lived in, it is a dirt road with not too much along it. When I look down at my pants there is white powdery stains and dirt covering the jeans I was weari...
