Pass or failing as person

I disagree, I just think there are good people and bad people in the world nobody really ever fails at being a person. A person is someone who has a soul, who can feel pain, love, or empathy. In order for a person to truly be dishonored is if they were to do something unjust such as taking another person's life away for no reason. I'm not counting the military because it's there job to do so in order to protect our country. People make a person not feel like a person when they strip them of their pride and disown them as a human being. I feel as if people do this to feel as if they are higher up on the social chain, they think they have a right over people because they make more money than a person. Yes, a person has every right to say something if somebody is making somebody feel like they are failing. No matter what, no matter who they are nobody should ever be downed by another person when they are probably already going through it. Make a person feel successful.

Conflicts

Neil Gaiman develops tension in the book by the narrator telling us that he always listens to his dad and respects his dad. Throughout the story, his dad is the alpha dog, he will do what his dad says. Then when the babysitter, Ursala arrived she really set a border between the adult world and the world of the children. Ursala set the border when she felt that she was older so she could boss around whoever she wanted because she was the adult in the house. Towards the end of the book, the problem is not really resolved but more or less not dealt with. Such as his parents forgetting everything after the stiched the bad memory out of them. The border of the adults and children still existed towards the end even after all that happened.

The goddesses

The first goddess is the Maiden, which is represented by a new waxing moon. They are characterized as a person who shows youth, creation, pleasure, and new beginnings. The maiden is also a person who wants you to explore your spirituality, creativity, and desires. Lettie is a perfect example of this type of goddess because of the way she shows all of these characteristics throughout the book. The way she shows her youth throughout portrays this goddess. The second goddess is the mother, which is represented by the full moon. They are characterized as a person who shows love, fertility, and nourishment. Ginnie shows all of these qualities caring for her daughter throughout the book. Especially when Lettie was taken by the ocean is when she showed how much and how true her love for Lettie was. The last goddess is the Crone, which is represented by the fading waning moon. They are characterized by wisdom, endings, and fulfillment. Old Mrs. Hemstock shows this well the way Lettie and Gin...

A Lie

Almost 10 years of my life I had gone without knowing I had a half brother and a half sister. One day My dad, mom, and I went to Florida to go visit some "family". At the time I still did not know that my half brother or sister existed. When we got to Florida my dad got on the phone with someone and I had asked who he was on the phone with and he said Jessica. Um Jessica? was my thought process, then he said it was his daughter from before. I was so confused at the time and as I put pieces together, I found out that this was not my dads first marriage, he had been married before. As a kid I wondered why he never told me, but now that I'm older I see why he never wanted to talk about it. It hurt my dad to talk about that because I'm sure that was hard time for him so I never really asked him about it. Now in present time I have a good relationship with my half brother and sister and still a great relationship with my dad. I was a bit disappointed at first because they ...

Little red riding hood Remix

One morning, Little Red Riding Hood took a nice basket to her grandmother's house, she promised her mom to go straight to her grandma's house and that she wouldn't talk to strangers. On the way to her house, she stopped and noticed some beautiful flowers and listened to the frog's croak. She didn't notice a shadow approaching her... out of nowhere, a wolf showed up next to her "what are you doing out here, little girl?" the wolf asked in a nice voice. The Little Red Riding Hood said nothing and remembered she was to go straight to grandma's house. So she got up and walked away. The wolf followed her from a distance but The Little Red Riding Hood noticed the wolf still following her so she walked the wrong direction right towards a very hungry-looking bear. The Little Red Riding Hood hurry and ran into the bushes while the bear confronted the wolf and ate him. The Little Red Riding Hood went to her grandma's house after knowing she did the rig...

Chapter 3 and Chapter 4

In chapter 3 Hjortshoj defines predatory reading as a reader taking an assigned reading and "attacking" it. What he means is you should read with an intention of taking something away from the text you are reading. Hjortshoj wants us to know as a "good" reader that reading should be done with a strategy, if information from a long text such as a textbook needs to be retained you have to strategize in order to understand a reading. Developing these strategies can go a long way throughout someones college career because in college you will have long readings and other assignments due the next day, so there will be no possible way to finish all of your reading plus other homework. In order to be able to accomplish the task of finishing your readings and assignments, predatory reading will help greatly. If you don't accomplish the ability to become a predatory reader, you will find it hard to stay on top of assignments and as weeks go by you will be behind. In chap...
